The Little Green Gathering, which took place earlier this month, covered the green spectrum, featuring political debate with heavy weights including gay rights and environmentalist Peter Thatchell.

But, it wasn’t all serious with political debate sitting alongside other activities, including lessons in weaving, as well as musical and poetry performances.

The event, held at the Sustainability Centre near Petersfield on top of the South Downs, was organised by Tim Dawes.

Watch an interview with Mr Dawes and highlights from the event below.

Mr Dawes explained the event was about getting the right people together in the right place.

He said: “It is getting likeminded greens together, many of them members or supporters of the Green Party, just to spend a weekend together.

“Nobody gets paid and everyone who comes has to contribute something, either as poets or musicians or if they can’t do any of that they end up doing the washing up … a lot of people end up doing the washing up!”
