Adapters put valves on plastic pipes

Drayton TRV4 thermostatic radiator valves from Invensys can now be fitted quickly and conveniently in systems which use plastic pipework, following the introduction of new push-fit adapters.

Available in high-quality chrome plate or white plastic, the new adapters meet the increasing trend toward installations with plastic pipe, particularly in new-build housing.

The adapters provide the convenience and reduced fitting time associated with push-fit installations, yielding important benefits in both the professional installer and DIY markets.

The availability of push-fit adapters means that all users of wet central heating systems can now enjoy the proven benefits of TRV4 thermostatic radiator valves.

These include quality finish, non-stick internals to ensure a long, maintenance-free working life, and a liquid-filled sensor which offers maximum sensitivity and rapid response to temperature fluctuations.

In addition, the valves feature a scooped bezel which allows the settings to be easily seen, and a unique airway in the base of the head.

This prevents conducted heat transference from the valve body, which would otherwise impair performance. Twelve click-stop setting positions include frost protection, and provide a positive lock for each setting. Range limiting is also possible to stop unwanted setting adjustments.

All TRV4 8, 10 and 15mm angle thermostatic radiator valves feature reverse-flow bodies, which means that they can be installed vertically or horizontally, on either the flow or return pipework, eliminating problems that can occur with incorrect positioning.

This flexibility simplifies fitting, both in new installations, and in retro-fit applications.

For applications which are particularly cost-sensitive, the new adapters can also be used in conjunction with RT212 thermostatic radiator valves from Invensys Climate Controls.

The combination of the RT212 and push-fit capability offers excellent temperature control and reliability at a very attractive price.
