Commenting on the event, edie’s content director Luke Nicholls said: “We have reached a crucial inflection point in the world of sustainable business: global governments have declared a climate emergency in the run-up to COP26, and businesses are now striving to drive a green recovery and achieve ambitious net-zero targets.

“The Sustainability Leaders Forum is a catalyst for collaborative change. Over three days, we’ll be connecting sustainable business leaders, government representatives, investors and NGOs around a common goal: to solve the climate crisis.”

Sessions and speakers

Already, companies including Zalando, Sky and Canary Wharf Group are confirmed to speak at the event, which has evolved from a face-to-face event to a new, virtual experience. The Sustainability Leaders Forum 2021 will allow delegates to “choose their own adventure”, with a plethora of session themes including net-zero strategy, sustainable investment, supply chain innovation, regeneration and biodiversity, and achieving the SDGs.

All three days (2-4 February) will be chaired by Futerra co-founder Solitaire Townsend, with confirmed speakers including Nando’s chief executive Colin Hill, World Green Building Council chief executive Christina Gamboa, Sky Bigger Picture director Fiona Ball, and Pernod Ricard’s vice-president of sustainability and responsibility Vanessa Wright.

Standing out from the crowd of online events, the Sustainability Leaders Forum will be a truly collaborative experience. Innovative “speed networking” technology will connect delegates based on ticket types via video chats, while co-creative workshops will be professionally facilitated to deliver tangible outputs. Additionally, virtual exhibition booths will showcase some of the cutting-edge technologies and services that will shape the decade of sustainable business action.
