Best reputation in Waste Management

Waste is something that affects every business and local authority in the land and this, coupled with the constantly growing body of regulations and Government targets, makes it a key sector in the environmental industry.

Both consultants and their customers recognised its importance in our survey, with the former saying it was likely to be the biggest growth area in coming years while the latter put it neck and neck with climate change as one of the issues they were likely to hire in help to address.

As can be seen in the data (see below) the big names continue to dominate the sector.

This year Enviros hold onto the top spot, having also won this category last year, with both consultants and customers acknowledging their dominance in the field.

Consultancy giant Atkins was forced to settle for second place despite a large vote of confidence from the public who thought the company was only slightly behind the winners.

Interestingly, the company who held second place last year, AEA Technology Environment, has slipped to tenth place in the perception of its peers over the past twelve months, although customers still rate the consultancy very highly.

In third place WSP find themselves in the unusual situation of being widely respected by their fellow consultancies, despite having a relatively low score when it came to what the customers thought.
