Richard Howitt, former IIRC CEO

Richard is a strategic advisor on corporate responsibility and sustainability, business and human rights and Senior Associate at Frank Bold LLP. Richard served as Rapporteur on Corporate Social Responsibility in a distinguished twenty-year career as Member of the European Parliament. He is known as the key architect of the EU’s Non-Financial Reporting Directive, described as the foremost legislation internationally on corporate transparency and is currently working on its update. Subsequently, Richard served as chief executive of the International Integrated Reporting Council. He was responsible for the major world project to integrate the Task Force for Climate-related Financial Disclosure recommendations into the international sustainability reporting frameworks. He regularly speaks on issues of sustainable finance, impact and long-term investment.
