Boiler recovers 15% of waste energy

A pioneering boiler which claims to recover 15% of waste energy to pre-heat domestic water or space heating using condensing technology has launched.

The Quinta Eco Plus developed by Remeha Commercial aims to provide a solution to rising fuel prices, profitability and government legislation targets. Using condensing technology the boiler saves waste energy equivalent to around 15% of its gross input is recovered by the boiler ready for use in heating such as equipment radiators and underfloor heating.

It is expected to deliver energy efficiencies, carbon reductions and financial savings by condensing at full output at all temperatures, to offer a full output at all temperatures 24 hours a day by offering a new level of full time attainable efficiency of 97% GVC at 82/71°C for buildings.

The system, which uses a commercial condensing boiler and a passive flue gas heat recovery device, is now recognised in building regulations and is suitable for new and existing buildings.
