Biwater subsidiary Cascal has acquired 87% of the shares of the China Water Company, including those previously held by Thames Water.
China Water owns majority stakes in four of the country’s major water service companies.
Cascal intends to use the acquisition, and its own expertise, to take advantage of the rapidly growing Chinese water services sector.
