OpenHydro, designers and manufacturers of marine turbines, hope to recruit a number of additional positions over the next 12 to 18 months.

Up to 20 new positions are being created by the business, which currently has a workforce of 50 permanent employees mostly located at the company’s Technical Centre in Greenore, Co. Louth.

OpenHydro chief executive, James Ives, said: “While we have cutting-edge technology, we believe that our people are our most valuable asset and we are determined to reward and invest in them.”

The new positions are primarily in engineering and operations and include; project engineers and managers, manufacturing engineers, as well as specialist finite element and structural engineers.

Mr Ives said the company is also looking for engineering graduates who will have the opportunity to start and develop their careers.
