The call for evidence sets out government understanding of available data and other insights on the current situation and barriers to reducing waste arisings in England through waste prevention, reuse and repair activities.
In announcing the development, Defra’s waste prevention team publicly assured that all views and additional evidence supplied would be used to support the development of the programme.
Alongside this, Defra’s director for waste policy Colin Church tweeted that the call for evidence “sets out evidence we have, priorities, barriers, opportunities and ongoing action; invites views and info from all”.
The call for evidence closes on 29 April.
