This is a straightforward example of a Member State being taken to Court for failing to notify the Commission of the laws, regulations and administrative provisions which it has adopted in order to implement a European Directive.
In this case, Greece had failed to notify the Commission of the laws which it had adopted in order to implement Directive 2001/81/EC on national emission ceilings for certain atmospheric pollutants, which Member States were required to transpose into national law by 27 November 2002.
The judgement in the case is currently only available in Greek and French though should shortly be available in English at the following link.
