Deadline Extended For The Environment and Energy Awards 2010

Recognising the importance of sustainability in today’s business climate, the UK’s biggest environmental gathering is challenging companies to promote their activities in this area by extending the deadline for entries to the 2010 Environment and Energy Awards.

Businesses and individuals now have until Friday 22 January, 2010 to put forward an entry to the Awards with a range of categories to choose from, covering 11 key areas in the environment, land, energy and sustainability sectors.

The Awards are a real showcase for the latest innovations in sustainable business practice. Previous winners range from the largest multinationals to small businesses and the public sector, with names such as Transport for London and the Metropolitan Police standing alongside Centrica and Mitsubishi as outstanding performers in sustainability.

Amongst long-standing awards such as the Energy Manager of the Year, three new categories have been introduced for 2010, providing more opportunities for companies to be recognised for their efforts.

One in particular focuses on an often overlooked element of best practice, namely effective communications campaigns, while another – the SME Award for Energy Efficiency – is specifically aimed at highlighting the benefits of this within this business community.

Innovation in new technologies, products or services will also be recognised, for example by the Energy Institute-sponsored Energy Product/Service Award.

The Awards will be showcased and presented during Sustainabilitylive!, the UK’s largest event for the environment, water, land, energy and sustainability sectors, at a black-tie dinner on the evening of Tuesday 20 April, 2010 at the National Motorcycle Museum, Birmingham.
