Fifth carbon budget

DEFINITION: The UK Government has set five-yearly carbon budgets which currently run until 2032. They restrict the amount of greenhouse gases the UK can legally emit in a five-year period. The UK’s Fifth carbon budget aims to limit the annual emissions to 57% below 1990 levels by the year 2032.
