edie Explains: ESOS Phase 3
How does the UK's Energy Savings Opportunity Scheme (ESOS) work? What are the best routes to ESOS compliance? And what changes are being proposed for the third phase of the Scheme as part of a Government consultation? This edie Explains guide answers all.
ESOS is a mandatory energy assessment and savings scheme for organisations in the UK which qualify for it. The Scheme was originally developed by the Department of Energy and Climate Change (DECC) – which is now the Department for Business, Energy, and Industrial Strategy (BEIS).
The UK Government recently put out a consultation, which closed on 28 September, for ESOS Phase 3. This follows on from the 2020 Post-Implementation Review of the Scheme.
As such, this new edie Explains guide is a timely publication. Sponsored by Inspired Energy, the guide offers an end-to-end overview of what the Scheme is, the best routes to compliance, and how ESOS can support net-zero carbon goals.
