E-waste firm Redeem ‘fastest growing’ recycler in UK

WEEE specialist Redeem has been named as the UK's fastest growing recycling company in terms of revenue according to an annual waste industry league table.

The company, which recycles used electronics for mobile network operators and corporate clients across nine European countries, jumped from sixth place last year to take the top slot in this year’s CIWM’s Waste Fast 30 list, compiled by Catalyst Corporate Finance.

Redeem refurbishes and resells or recycles high volumes of a wide range of IT and electronic equipment and has certified ISO 9001/14001 compliance as a specialist waste carrier.

Earlier this year O2 renewed its mobile phone recycling contract with the company and broadened its phone recovery service to corporate clients.

Redeem CEO Claes Svensson said the company’s success could be attributed to operating in a sector predicted to show substantial growth as corporates and consumers become increasingly aware of the environmental and economic benefits of electronics recycling.

“The company has a history of innovation in providing sustainable solutions for its business partners. I am looking forward to continuing to oversee ambitious growth at Redeem and forging new partnerships,” Svensson said.

The list ranks the fastest growing privately owned waste services businesses in the UK by revenue growth. Entrants are required to have filed three consecutive years of audited accounts at Companies House.
