Edie launches environmental technology search engine

edie is proud to launch a new internet search engine which allows users to search over 5,000 companies active in the environmental market. Global Marketplace works like a fully-fledged search engine, with companies indexed according to business activity and a keyword search facility for custom searches.

“Even the best general internet search engines can only index around 13% of the web, which makes it hard for users to find companies in specific industry sectors, and even harder for individual companies to ensure that their websites and their services are easily found,” said new media publisher, Carl Myers, launching the service. “www.environment-marketplace.com addresses this need by taking full, industrial-strength internet technology and putting it to work for companies and individuals in the environment sector”.

If your organisation is active in the water, waste or environment sector, then you should be listed on this new search engine. To check if you are already in the index, just go to www.environment-marketplace.com and enter your company name in the search box. If you are not found in the results, you should go to the most appropriate section for your organisation, click the button marked “add an entry” and submit your details to the search engine. If you are already listed, you should send an email to edmarket@edie.net to request your free username and password. Once you have a password, you can securely log onto the site to edit your details and ensure that you are listed in all appropriate categories. Entries can also be enhanced with company logos, company profile pages, direct hyperlinks and guaranteed priority listings for specific categories or keyword searches. The listing can also dynamically display full details of all of a company’s products that are present on edie’s technology database.
