edie Live 2016: A look back at Day 1 (video) and a look ahead to Day 2

After a fascinating first day of inspiration, insight and expertise, edie explores what's in store today (18 May) for the second and final day of the 2016 edie Live exhibition at the NEC Birmingham. And there's still time to attend!

Sustainable business was well and truly covered yesterday (17 May), with thousands of energy managers, sustainability professionals and resource efficiency experts sitting in on practical, CDP-accredited seminar sessions and crowds gathering at the edie Leaders Theatre throughout the day.

Day 1 review

Particular highlights from Day 1 included a lively morning debate on the edie Leaders Theatre about the potentially “detrimental” impacts of changing green policy; a great session on the role of ‘servitisation’ in driving a circular ecconomy over in the Resource Efficiency Theatre; and confirmation from Tesco that the supermarket group is rolling out the next phase of its food waste reduction programme.

Meanwhile, over in the Innovation Zone, Upside Energy beat off tough competition from nine other ground-breaking green innovations – all aimed at tackling sustainability head on – to win a £6,000 support package to help it become a commercial reality.
