Embracing the fierce urgency of NOW: One week left until Sustainability Leaders Forum 2019

Plastic thinkathons, SDG Leadership Labs, live vodcast discussions and panel debate featuring the likes of Carlsberg, Interface and Unilever complete an all-star line-up for edie's flagship Sustainability Leaders Forum 2019 - taking place next Tuesday and Wednesday (5-6 February) in London.

Embracing the fierce urgency of NOW: One week left until Sustainability Leaders Forum 2019

The 2019 Sustainability Leaders Forum takes the theme of 'Embracing the fierce urgency of NOW' to address some of the biggest challenges of our time

Taking place on 5-6 February 2019 at the Business Design Centre in London, edie’s Sustainability Leaders Forum is set to provide inspiration, insight, best-practice case studies and the aspirational drive to deliver meaningful change across business-crticial sustainability themes.

From the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy’s (BEIS) Minister of State for Energy and Clean Growth Claire Perry through to Nespresso’s chief executive Jean-Marc Duvoisin, the two-day event is an ideal opportunity to learn from today’s change-agents, drive innovation and create brand value.

In one instance, the Forum gives delegates the opportunity to discuss climate leadership with the only three companies to have set science-based targets aligned with the more ambitious 1.5C goal of the Paris Agreement. Carlsberg’s director of sustainability Simon Boas-Hoffmeyer, Tesco’s head of environment Kené Umeasiegbu and BT’s head of sustainable business policy Gabrielle Giner will all take to the stage in an engaging “Ask Us Anything” session.

Meanwhile, world-renowned thought leaders such as Forum for the Future’s founder-director Jonathon Porritt CBE, World Resources Institute’s director of food loss and waste Liz Goodwin, and The Prince of Wales’s Corporate Leaders Group’s chair Philippe Joubert will also be speaking at the event to inspire business to transform their operations, for good.

Expert speakers from the likes of Marks & Spencer (M&S), Coca-Cola, Unilever, ING and InterContinental Hotels (IHG) will also be appearing to discuss the power of purpose, new business mindsets and innovative sustainability moonshots.

Thinkathons & Leadership Labs…

And that’s not all. Over the two days, edie will be hosting two interlinked ‘Thinkathons’ which will spark new ideas and actions to solve the challenge of single-use plastics and develop an action-plan to deliver the sustainable business of the future, today.

Additional, interactive ‘Leadership Lab’ workshops will enable delegates to get to grips with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), sustainability storytelling and unlocking green innovation.

As announced last week, environmentalist and television presenter Michaela Strachan, comedian Sara Pascoe and edie’s own Guest of Honour Paul Polman will all appear at the revamped Sustainability Awards, which take place at the Park Plaza London Westminster.
