In a decision relating to harbour waste reception facilities, the European Court declared that by failing to draw up and implement waste reception and handling plans in respect of all ports, Finland had failed to fulfil its obligations under Articles 5(1) and 16(1) of Directive 2000/59/EC on port reception facilities for ship generated waste and cargo residues.
Finland was ordered to bear the expense of the action.
