We’ve set up a new area of the site which allow users to communicate with each other so that they can share good practice within the environmental industries, talk through challenges and highlight the achievements they are proud of.
Alongside this is what we believe to be an industry first – a massive online conference which you can visit whenever you want, free of charge, without leaving your desk.
We’ve tracked down some of the best speakers in the business and asked them to make presentations which can be viewed at the click of a mouse. The audience can make public comments on these presentations or, in most cases, contact the speaker direct if they want to take the discussion further.
New presentations are being added all the time, so check the site regularly to get the most of it, and in the spirit of interactivity, we’re also asking you to submit your own for consideration.
Our third new offering is edie TV, a selection of video interviews taking a look at the issues which are important to the sector.
For these, we’ve teamed up with ITN and used our own in house expertise to provide a wide range of footage covering everything from green building to low carbon transport.
Help edie gain recognition for this initiative
We think www.edie.net/conference is bold, innovative and hopefully really really useful. It’s now in the running for an online publishing award from www.ukaop.org.uk – so if you agree that it’s a great idea, please take a minute and tell the AOP judges – here’s how to help:
1. Login to edie’s networking community at: http://live.edie.net (click ‘login’, and enter you edie username and password)
2. Go to the Judges’ profile page: http://live.edie.net/aopjudge
3. Click on the “send a message” button and tell the judges who you are, who you work for, and why you think edie is good – if you have a webcam, you can make this a video message – which would be even better (it’s always nice to see real people)!
