Last week (October 11) Cory Environmental took full operational control of the Riverside Resource Recovery project in Bexley, South London, marking its handover from the EPC contractor.
The plant will now move into a detailed period of reliability, performance and availability trials over the next 15 months to ensure that the facility is operating at peak performance before it is officially opened.
When it goes live, the facility will be able process up to 670,000 tonnes per annum of residual waste, generating up to 72MW of renewable electricity into the National Grid. Waste will be transported via river to the plant, which will employ 70 people when fully operational.
