The global strategic workshop will take place in Pune, India, from 27 April and will run across four days to help delegates gain a better understanding of how to best deal with the waste they collect.

Waste picker organisations from 38 cities in total across Africa, Latin America and Asia will discuss different models of inclusion in municipal solid waste management systems and threats they are facing.

The aim of the event say organisers is to share best practice and strengthen ties between different unions and their orgainisational efforts. Field visits to composting facilities and bio-gas plants will also be hosted.
