Kim Carstensen, a leading figure in the Danish WWF, said while the talks were opoised on a knife edge he’d seen a constructive atmosphere.

And, was hopeful there’d be a positive outcome from what’s been called the most important climate talks in history.

He said: “We see negotiators resume their talks in what is reported to be a constructive atmosphere, where they’re moving forward to be able to present something.

“With a lot of heads of state coming there’s a lot of pressure on the negotiators, to come up with a result and so far it seems to me from their reaction that they’re taking up the challenge and moving forward.

“Something things the negotiators won’t be able to resolve that’s for the ministers – but at the moment their moving towards something that will offer a good outcome.”
