Helping young people get to grips with the UN’s Global Goals

But they are crucial aims that businesses, governments and all of us can address, help educate young people on and make sure they’re easily understood. 

At DP World, we are helping educate school chidlren on the SDGs through our partnership with IMPACT2030, a business sector led initiative focused on mobilising employees to achieve the Global Goals.

IMPACT2030 recently launched ‘Employees Teach the Global Goals’, a collaboration with the World’s Largest Lesson, which is an initiative to raise young people’s awareness and to encourage them to become actively involved. The World’s Largest Lesson places employee volunteers into classrooms around the world to help children learn how to make our world better.

We’ve already seen great results having partnered with Linklaters and PwC to pilot the World’s Largest Lesson in three Dubai schools earlier this year.

Our employee volunteers introduced children to the SDGs in an accessible and stimulating way, with students focused on the biggest challenges faced by the world today and how to tackle them.  Of the students who took part in the pilot, 94% learnt more about the SDGs, and 92% said they now care more about social and environmental issues. 

The lessons have played an important role in ensuring future generations feel empowered take action. That’s why we back the World’s Largest Lesson, which aims to deliver learning about the SDGs in every school on the planet.

By engaging increasing numbers of young people on these crucial issues, we can help work towards a sustainable future for all.
