High flyers sought for ICU achievement awards

Entries are now open for the International Clean Up Industry Achievement Awards 2007 which recognise innovation and excellence in the contaminated land and remediation sectors

Can your company inspire others within the contaminated land or remediation sectors? Does your business have what it takes to be at the forefront of technological and service innovations?

If you think your company has the goods, entries are now open for International Clean Up’s (ICU) Industry Achievement Awards 2007. Now in their fifth year, the awards celebrate and reward the most inspiring technologies and services, new to the contaminated land and remediation sectors.

The awards are organised by Faversham House Group, supported by LAWR, and run in conjunction with the ICU show, the largest event of its kind for the contaminated land industry in the UK. In addition, ICU is part of Sustainabilitylive! which will be held at Birmingham NEC from 1 – 3 May 2007.

Award categories

The ICU Industry Achievement Awards are divided into two categories – Innovation Award for Technology, and Innovation Award for Service.

The ICU Innovation Award for Technology seeks to uncover new and innovative technologies that are being developed within the industry.

The ICU Innovation Award for Service looks to recognise a high quality service that not only provides value for money but that has relevant environmental benefits.

This year’s Innovation Award for Technology went to Regenesis while the Innovation Award for Service was picked up by Longbore TT. This year, an even greater number of entries is expected as the competition has now been opened up to non-exhibiting companies.

All entries will be assessed by an independent panel of experts from the remediation and contaminated land industries with Professor Jim Lynch of Forest Research heading the group.

Professor Lynch says that the ICU show has “benefited greatly by integration with the other environmental shows at the NEC and its inclusion for 2007 in Sustainabilitylive! means it has the prospect of being the most exciting yet.”

The ICU Industry Achievement Award winners will be announced at the Sustainabilitylive! Industry Achievement Awards ceremony and dinner, held at the ICC, Birmingham on Tuesday 1 May 2007.

All short-listed applicants will be invited to present their technology during Innovationlive! sessions at ICU 2007, part of Sustainabilitylive! on Tuesday 1 May 2007.
