Hunter Maintains Effective Grease Control

Following the successful launch of the Endura grease interceptor last year, Hunter Plastics is increasing its offering further with the addition of new products in the BioPak range of environmentally considerate dosing and maintenance equipment.

Whist Hunter Plastics’s Endura DSG16 offers the fastest – and most simple-to-install grease interception solution, regular maintenance and a planned management programme is essential to the effective operation of all grease interceptors.

Manually cleaning out the unit can be an unpleasant and time-consuming task, especially in a high use environment that may require maintenance perhaps every three to five days. But in a busy kitchen avoiding this essential maintenance can lead to blockages and in the worst cases unpleasant internal flooding that is costly to rectify.

Hunter offers a choice of methods for considerably reducing the amount of cleaning required. The Endura BioPak is a fully automated dosing system, which delivers a measured dose of Bio-G to the grease interceptor at intervals programmed into the system to suit the application. The five-litre container will last around four weeks with average usage and economical 12.5 litre refills are now available over the counter at Hunter Endura stockists.

Hunter Plastics has also introduced a cost-effective manual alternative to grease interceptor enzyme dosing: Bio+ (Bio Plus), a granular grease digestion medium can be introduced manually into any sink connected to the Endura. No pump or any other equipment is required. The granules are simply poured into the sink waste and then flushed into the interceptor using half a sink of warm water. Bio+ is supplied in a pack of four easy-to-handle 1kg containers, a pack lasting on average 4 months.

Unlike competitor systems, the Endura grease interceptor is a one-piece injection moulded tank that ensures it will remain leak-free during its lifetime. And, because it is considerably lighter and less bulky than alternative systems, installation is positively a one-man operation. Endura offers maximum installation versatility as it can be fitted above, semi-recessed into, or below floor level.

Beneath the grease interceptor’s nylon reinforced, mechanically sealed cover, its patent pending baffle design increases the efficiency of grease separation. The1.6 litre per second flow rate and 23-litre grease capacity make it ideal for most commercial hot food premises. From 1 April 2002 all premises of this type ‘should be fitted with a grease separator’ according to Part H of the 2002 UK Building Regulations.

Hunter Plastics manufactures the widest range of PVC-U rainwater, soil and waste and underground drainage systems available in the UK.
