India prepares first private water supply project
India is preparing to close the deal on its first private water supply contract by March 1999.
The project, planned to come online in 2002, will supply some 200 MLD (million litres/day) to the Tirupur area, reports The Hindu. Industry will receive water at a commercial rate, while domestic users will be subsidised by industry charges. – See linked article for more details
