International development charity VSO is looking for experienced irrigation engineers to help combat the crippling combination of drought and poverty effecting the farmers of Malawi in central Africa.

The charity needs volunteers who want to use their professional knowledge to make a real difference to people’s lives and ideally would like to hear from people with a degree-level qualification and five years’ experience in the field.

Volunteers receive a modest living allowance and their accommodation, medical and travel expenses are all covered by the charity.

Anyone who would like to find out more about this or other volunteering opportunities for environmental professionals can contact VSO on 020 8780 7500, email enquiry@vso.org.uk or visit the website at www.vso.org.uk
