We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Development Technician to join Developer Services which forms part of the Service Delivery Business Unit with in Yorkshire Water.

As a Development Technician, you will be responsible protection of the water and sewerage assets when new developments take’s place within the Yorkshire Region. You will be responsible assessing and responding to development control consolations from the local authorities.

 

Salary £22,523 to £30,171 depending on experience + attractive pension + quarterly performance related bonus + 25 days holiday + training & development opportunities in line with the Development Technician progression plan.

The role is based at our Buttershaw site in Bradford, however, there is a requirement to travel across the Yorkshire region, therefore a full valid EU driving licence is a requirement of this role.

Your role will involve detailed assessment and responding to third party planning application and pre-development enquires. Ensuring protection of water mains and public sewers while facilitating new development. Flood Risk Management is essential in protecting the environment, new and existing customers and you will be required to implement this as a Development Technician. Effective liaison of external relationships with Local Planning Authorities Developers Planning is also required.

What skills are we looking for ?

Ideally a degree/HNC/HND in a relevant engineering or scientific discipline or the equivariant experience with water/wastewater utilities or planning process.

A confident communicator you will have strong influencing and negotiation skills and be able to develop and maintain effective internal and external relationships with a range of key stakeholders.

It is also essential that you have rigorous attention to detail to ensure 'right first-time performance'.

You will be covering the Yorkshire region therefore a full UK driving licence is required for the role.
