Kinshasa runs short of drinking water

The capital of the Democratic Republic of Congo, Kinshasa, which lies on the banks of the river that many southern African nations see as the ultimate source of water for southern Africa, is running short of drinking water.


The crisis, which has forced residents to recycle water from polluted sources, is due to lack of chlorine for disinfection, rather than a lack of water.
