Dennis Eagle launches Twin Pack 50/50

Dennis Eagle has widened its RCV body range following the introduction of the Phoenix High Capacity Twin Pack 50/50. Launched at the RWM2005 exhibition at the NEC, the High Capacity Twin Pack 50/50 is based on the company's existing Twin Pack body concept.

Aimed specifically at both private and public sector customers operating in the recycling sector, the High Capacity Twin Pack 50/50 features two separate body compartments, each of which has a 10m3 capacity. Like the Twin Pack, which has a two third/one third body compartment, this latest recycling option also features interdependent tailgate and operational systems which, together with its longitudinal body split, safeguard against waste contamination at all stages of the collection and recycling process.

The Twin Pack 50/50 has been designed to offer dependability and increased versatility, the company states. In addition to the body compartments being manufactured from high tensile steel braced by hoops with rolled steel longitudinal channels under the floor, the tailgate features a low rave rail height for manual loading and versatile binlift mounting.

In addition to the Twin Pack and new Twin Pack 50/50, Dennis Eagle’s recycling body range also takes in the Duo and One Pass.

The company’s Elite chassis continues is also employed on many private and public sector recycling fleets. To satisfy the requirements of almost all operating conditions, the Elite chassis comes in both 2.2 metre narrow and 2.5 metre wide track variants and can be specified with a number of two and three axle configurations.

Dennis Eagle also reports that it has won its biggest ever chassis and body order from a new customer in Wales. Rhondda Cynon Taf Council is to invest £15 million replacing and updating its entire vehicle fleet over the next 12 months. With Waste Services being the first area to benefit from the investment programme, the council is in the process of taking delivery of a new fleet of 36 Dennis Eagle RCVs.

Rhondda Cynon Taf Cabinet Member for Environmental Improvement and Sustainability, Cllr Anthony Christopher states: “We said from the outset that one of our key priorities was investment in our recycling and waste management infrastructure. The new vehicles are one of the first visible signs of the investment that is being made in this field.”

Serving to replace the council’s existing seven-year-old fleet, the Dennis Eagle RCV newcomers all feature the 2.2 metre narrow track chassis that will make properties that have been traditionally harder to reach far more accessible. In essence, they will serve as multi-purpose vehicles that will operate in high-density urban conurbations as well as lower density rural areas.
