Italy falls foul of ship waste laws

The European Court of Justice has upheld a complaint lodged by the European Commission that Italy failed to implement the European Directive 2000/59/EC on port reception facilities for ship-generated waste and cargo residues by failing to draw up and adopt, in respect of each Italian port, the necessary waste reception and handling plans.

The full judgment of the ECJ is available in a number of European languages here.
