New weighbridge software adds 'Xtra' factor
Weighman Xtra, the latest software innovation from Avery Weigh-Tronix, is designed to increase revenue, lower costs and improve efficiency for any vehicle weighing application.
From waste management and recycling to extraction, quarrying and gatehouse control, the new software is stated to be suitable for any application where increased vehicle throughput, local, remoter or unmanned operation and improved visibility of data are important.
The flexible Windows®-based package supports the latest Microsoft® operating systems, including XP and 2000. All data is stored on an SQL database capable of handling large amounts of information and multi-stage, multi-location functions. Weighman Xtra captures the essential information required for each transaction and requires only minimal data entry. This helps to reduce input errors and ensures a fast an efficient operation. Short cut keys and storage of frequently recalled information, such as vehicle tare weights, customer and haulier data can be set up easily.
Unmanned sites and driver operated systems can capture data via swipe card or simple key press entry, allowing managers to extend or streamline operations be enabling out-of-hours access.
A vehicle marshalling module helps to improve site security and assists the flow of traffic over the bridge. A variety of control devices, such as traffic lights, barriers and sensors, can be incorporated to ensure that the vehicle is correctly positioned on the deck, for accurate weight readings. Digital cameras can be positioned to capture images of the vehicle's contents, the identity of the driver of the position of the wheels, for evidence of due diligence.
Operators can also log all visitors to the site, with details of vehicle registrations and times of arrival and departure for health and safety purposes. Up to 20 fields per weighing sequence can be adapted to include user-specific information relating to clients, vehicles, drivers and more. Weighbridge tickets, quotations and simple invoices are available in a variety of on-screen or printed formats and can be personalised with logos or graphics.
Weighman Xtra integrates with most manufacturers' indicators, weighing devices and printers, enabling easier installation into existing operations. It can also be configured to link with management information systems such as SAP, Baan and SAGE. The system is backed by a team of specialist Avery Weigh-Tronix engineers.
