Reliability a key factor for waste company

Backing up its declared objective of offering a reliable service to customers in the Greater Manchester area, Bury-based Wheeldon Brothers Waste Ltd has added another Heil Europe manufactured Big Bite to its 10-vehicle fleet.

The company runs a second depot on the outskirts of Manchester, in Royton, which shares the fleet of three REL/wheeled bin wagons; three Rolonoff wagons; seven Chainlift wagons; two tipper/ejector wagons, one road sweeper and three maintenance/delivery vans.

James Wheeldon, Transport/Workshop Manager, emphasised how vital reliability is in servicing customers. He said that the Heil equipment was robust and reliable with a high compaction rate. “These three qualities are of the utmost importance when you consider that the vehicle will be picking up 30 skip loads per day.”

Wheeldon’s specification for the Heil vehicle body included on-board weighing equipment to help maximise payload, the improved safety of the in-cab controls for tipping waste out of the vehicle and a side door for cleaning and maintaining behind the blade.
