Save with steam
Gardner Energy Management's (GEM) formula for the design of its product is a simple one: "Steam trapping principles have not changed since the beginning of this century. Our commercial and environmental requirements are now much more stringent, so what is needed is a simple and effective cost-saving steam trap which does not waste steam and energy."
Other customers include Wrigley's, Glaxo Wellcome, ICI and Devonport Dockyard.
An invention of Tim Gardner, a chartered engineer who used to design industrial steam systems, the GEM Trap has won several awards in its short history. These include the Engineering Council's 1998 Environment Award for Engineers, the Millennium Products Award, awarded to British-designed products developed during the last five years, and the Institute of Chemical EngineeringÕs Eurochem/ET award.
