Skye Instruments launches DataHog3 data logger
Skye has been producing high specification loggers for over 12 years. The units, which have been specially designed for meteorological and environmental monitoring, operate on low power and are fully waterproof, and are suitable for use in remote locations.
DataHog3 has many data processing capabilities, not available in previous models. For example, by using the DataHog3 with the Skye MiniMet Weather Station, users can automatically record mean, maximum and minimum values, wind gust details plus a range of statistical data as may be required by legislation.
DataHog3 is stated to be easy to set-up with simple software in table format - no complicated programming is required. Like all Skye dataloggers systems are provided with plugs and sockets. Systems with terminal blocks are available for customers who prefer to wire their own sensors.
All systems are fully waterproof and can include a built-in display and keyboard if required. An optional hand-held display is available which can be used for data transfer, avoiding the need for a laptop or PC. Alternatively for permanent installations, solar powered modem links or mains powered cable connections are available.
The new unit can also be configured as the heart of a control system. Relay outputs can be used to initiate alarms or controllers according to measured parameters - suitable for frost warnings, low air pressure alerts, high wind speed alarms, odour control, dust control etc.
