Water show in the pipeline
The biggest trade show for the British water industries, the International Water and Effluent Exhibition (IWEX), is set to open at the NEC in Birmingham on Tuesday, May 1. The event, part of the Sustainabilitylive! eco-shows, will showcase the latest in water technology innovation as well as giving visitors an insight into the shifting legislative and business landscapes of the water and wastewater sectors.
The omnipresent issue of water scarcity is tackled by Jacob Tompkins, director of water-saving NGO Waterwise, who sets out the case for cutting water waste rather than use as the most efficient way of combating water shortages.
Meanwhile another of the high profile speakers scheduled for the IWEX conference, Water UK's chief executive Pamela Taylor, explores the effects of climate change on the water industry and some of the issues around the energy costs of reaching ever higher water quality standards.
The IWEX exhibition runs from May 1st - 3rd at the NEC in Birmingham.
