May Gurney bags a brace

May Gurney Utility Services has won two long-term water network framework contracts.
Work recently started on delivery for Folkestone & Dover Water, part of the Veolia Water group, which helps increase May Gurney's presence in the southeast of England.

The two frameworks cover a two-year period, with an optional three-year extension, based upon performance. The first contract covers water networks, main-laying and maintenance. The second is for water metering – particularly significant because the client is increasing the volume of selective water metering it is undertaking, to encourage better water management in the region.

Tim Read, managing director of May Gurney Utility Services, said: “These two contract awards consolidate our position as a leading utility contractor in the Southeast as we already work closely with Mid Kent Water, Essex & Suffolk Water and Anglian Water in the region.

“It’s good to have been selected to work for this new customer and we look forward to supporting them in their investment needs that relate to their water networks activities in the future.”
