Lord Deben announced as Guest of Honour for Sustainability Leaders Awards 2022

The Sustainability Leaders Awards ceremony takes place as an in-person event at the Park Plaza London Westminster hotel on Wednesday 30 March 2022

Lord Deben will deliver the opening address to attendees at the Sustainability Leaders Awards, which celebrate the people and projects that are together transforming business and helping nations push towards net-zero emissions for good.

Lord Deben set up and now runs Sancroft, a Corporate Responsibility consultancy working with blue-chip companies around the world on environmental, social and ethical issues. Lord Deben is Chairman of the Climate Change Committee, Valpak Limited, and the Personal Investment Management & Financial Advisers Association.

He was the longest-serving Secretary of State for the Environment the UK has ever had (1993-97).  His sixteen years of top-level ministerial experience also include Minister for Agriculture, Fisheries & Food, Minister for London, Employment Minister and Paymaster General in HM Treasury.  He has consistently championed an identity between environmental concerns and business sense.

Additionally, the Sustainability Leaders Forum will now take place on 7-9 March, to allow for in-person discussions and co-creative workshops.

    Maybe an opportunity to ask Lord Deben why the CCC congratulates Govt for wholly inadequate progress and for announcing emission reduction targets that have no plans for their achievement, and largely ignores the 43% of UK driven emissions due to imports.
