Mouchel welcomes new air quality expert
Mouchel, the consulting and business services group, has appointed internationally-recognised air quality assessment expert, Dr Ana Grossinho, to the post of Associate Director and Technical Manager in its air quality and odour control team.
Dr Grossinho has over 20 years’ experience of environmental assessment work, including air quality monitoring, dispersion modelling and mapping and has been responsible for national, regional and local air pollution assessment and reporting. She has also designed and developed award-winning geographic information systems’ applications to model population exposure to traffic-related pollution.
In her role, Dr Grossinho will co-ordinate the European Commission prototyping project linking INSPIRE services up with the CAFÉ Directive, which will make air quality data and reports available online. She will also continue to lead the implementation of the European Shared Environmental Information System (SEIS).
Dr Grossinho said: “I am delighted with the opportunity to be part of Mouchel’s family. Its vision, mission, values and professional ethics are absolutely outstanding and I feel it is a privilege to be part of it. Mouchel’s air quality team is extremely innovative and develops and uses best practice approaches to provide air quality services to clients in a very pro-active way. It has been great to get to know them all.”
Mark Chapman, Mouchel’s Divisional Manager for air quality and odour control, said: “I am thrilled that Ana has joined our team. Her contributions will allow us to raise our profile in important external markets, especially as we look to increase our provision of technical services to the European Commission. Ana’s appointment provides opportunities to develop our team of over 13 air quality and odour control specialists across the UK, and will enhance our reputation as an unrivalled team that continues to delight its clients and exceed expectations.”
Before joining Mouchel, Grossinho worked at Defra as a Senior Scientific and Policy Advisor within AEQ and within the Environmental Assessment division of Bureau Veritas as a Senior Project Manager.
