The first Zenon Membrane Technology Prize will be awarded next year for innovations in wastewater treatment that employ membrane technology and the second, to be awarded in 2001, will relate to water purification.

The competition is open to academics, research institutes and consulting firms. Submissions can include a learned dissertation at the Masters or PhD level or reports on the results of membrane research and/or application. An independent, international panel of judge will decide on the winner based on the contribution and scope of the application, technical soundness, presentation and organisation.

The Zenon group of companies operates in North America, Europe, Asia, Latin America and the Middle East in the field of membrane products and services.
