NEW DUST CONTROL SYSTEM FROM TORIT DCE BOOSTS CAPACITY AND CUTS COST

To date, traditional filter systems have typically used circular cartridges with a pleat depth of around 50mm; although these can function efficiently in many applications they can suffer under heavy loading, where the walls of the pleats bend, trapping dust on the surface of the cartridge during each cleaning cycle. By comparison, the Downflo® Oval 1 incorporates newly developed elliptical cartridges, which feature shorter, stiffer pleats with a depth of just 38mm; these enable each cartridge to be fully cleaned by reverse jet pulsing, thereby extending media life.

Perhaps as importantly, the design of the new elliptical cartridges allows them to handle a 10% greater airflow, while reducing the velocities within the cabinet. In addition, the increase in cross sectional area that is possible from an oval rather than a cylindrical filter, combined with an improved airflow path within the collector, results in dramatically reduced media abrasion. As a result, fewer cartridges may be required for each application, while the number of times filters need to be replaced can be reduced by up to 25%; together, these factors contribute to significantly lower operating costs.

To increase operating efficiency still further, the filter cartridges are manufactured using Torit DCE’s Ultra-Web® media, which features a layer of Eon fine fibres that capture even submicron particulate at the surface of the media. As a result, an even dust cake is formed, which can be easily pulsed off to ensure an exceptional level of cleaning efficiency.

In addition to the inclusion of Eon fine fibres, the Downflo® Oval features the latest, high specification valves that deliver increased peak pressure throughout the cleaning cycle providing users with the most effective cleaning system available.

Maintenance is quick and simple, as each cartridge is lightweight and manageable, with quick-release handles being fitted to the cartridge covers.

All Downflo® Oval 1 collectors are fitted with an IPC Controller from the brand new range. This ensures that the Downflo® Oval 1 performs to 100% of its intended capacity, regardless of the arduous nature of the application.
