News Release: Whale Tankers turns to Casella Cel for sound monitoring equipment

The Solihull-based company makes specialist road tankers over a wide range of sizes and applications up to 30,000 litre capacity vehicles for the waste industry. Additional product categories include winter maintenance (gritters) and street cleansing vehicles.

Marketing Manager Julian Fishwick comments: “We undertake a series of sound readings to ensure that noise levels generated by all vehicles fall within specified European noise emission levels. Twelve readings are taken for each unit and an appropriate calculation undertaken to give a sound power level. This is displayed on each and every vehicle which leaves the factory.

“We selected the Casella CEL-440.A1 sound meter with a Casella CEL-284/2 calibrator as it was the most competitive equipment available,” he said.

Features of the Casella CEL-440 include a choice of broad band and frequency analysis modes, manual or automatic operation, on-board memory which eliminates the need for hand written reports and download capability to printers and computers.
