Dr Nick Murry joins IMS Consulting

IMS Consulting is delighted to announce the appointment of Dr Nick Murry as Director for Business Development and Strategy.


Nick’s background is in business development, consultancy services delivery and sustainable business.

He has 25 years professional experience, 15 of which have been spent in business leadership roles including most recently as Associate Director at the international infrastructure and buildings development consultants Halcrow.

While at Halcrow, Nick established and oversaw the company’s internal sustainability performance management and led various external engagement and collaborative initiatives in the civil engineering and construction consultancy sector.

Nick also directed the development of sustainability assessment and management software, designed to help clients address sustainability in the context of their organisational and development aspirations.

His appointment at IMS Consulting provides further knowledge and expertise in sustainability and the built environment. It will also strengthen the online stakeholder dialogue and engagement services provided to clients by IMS Consulting, using the StakeholderTALKTM online engagement toolkit, developed by the company.

Nick’s technical expertise includes economic appraisal, programme evaluation, environmental assessment, sustainability appraisal and sustainability performance management. He has directed large scale international multidisciplinary projects, as well as high profile studies such as the Strategic Environmental Assessment (SEA) of consultation proposals for a draft Scottish Climate Change Bill, for which he was Project Director.

Nick’s PhD from Cranfield University focused on sustainable development in an international development context.

He also holds a postgraduate certificate in sustainable business from Cambridge University, is a qualified CEEQUAL assessor (the Civil Engineering Environmental Quality Assessment and Award Scheme), sits on a number of sustainability and climate change related panels and steering groups and is a member of the All Party Parliamentary Climate Change Group.
