Planning for Water: A Major Challenge for the Government's new Sustainable Communities
Thursday, 21st October, 2004.
One Birdcage Walk, London. SW1H 9JJ
The Sustainable Communities Plan, launched by the Deputy Prime Minister in February, 2003, calls for 200,000 new homes to be provided by 2016, with most of these in growth areas identified in Milton Keynes/South Midlands, London-Stansted-Cambridge, Ashford and the Thames Gateway. Of course, to do this throws up immense challenges, not least in planning for water, the subject of this one-day conference.
Delegates representing the UK regulators, water resources managers and operators, local authorities (particularly land use planners and developers), environmental organisations and academics with an interest in water resources and policy should attend.
