UK’s leading ecology team at RenewableUK

SLR Consulting's presence at this year's RenewableUK Conference (to be held in Glasgow between 2-4 November) is augmented by representatives from its recent acquisition, Andrew McCarthy Associates (AMA).

Now fully integrated and operating under the SLR banner, the combined firms’ ecology team is one of the largest, most technically experienced in the UK and has extensive experience in habitat and protected species surveys and EIAs for the wind energy sector.

This expertise will be highlighted at RenewablesUK by Senior Associate Stephen Holloway, from SLR’s Exeter office, delivering a paper on “Renewable Energy and Ecology in the UK: the survey, impact assessment and mitigation challenge,” at a seminar on onshore development issues on the first day of the conference.

SLR, which has 22 offices in the UK and Ireland, also has extensive experience in the planning, permitting and procurement of renewable energy generating schemes. Among a range of current projects, it is involved in the development of both off-shore and on-shore wind farms in Malta, and was recently successful in assisting RWE npower renewables in gaining planning permission for a 12 turbine 30 MW wind farm at Stroupster in Caithness, Scotland.
