Full disclosure: a guide to TCFD alignment

Last updated: 2nd February 2021

Since their release in 2017, the recommendations of the Task Force on Climate-related Financial Disclosures (TCFD) have been transforming the corporate disclosure landscape.

Traditionally, climate disclosure focused on the question “What is the impact of your organisation on climate change?”. TCFD takes the investor perspective, flipping this question on its head, to ask “What will be the impact of climate change on your organisation?”.

For those yet to adopt the TCFD recommendations, the risks and opportunities arising from climate change will remain largely unknown. Even less clear will be the potential mitigation and adaptation strategies available. With the climate already changing and the call for Net Zero rising, organisations must now respond.

Having spent the last two years working with organisations to implement the TCFD recommendations, we have produced a guide to provide clarity and direction. To demonstrate how to improve business disclosures, strengthen climate and sustainability strategy, and future-proof business through one programme: TCFD alignment.
