Last chance to enter 2009 Sustainable City Awards

The City of London Corporation has issued a last call for entries to its green gongs.

Now in its ninth year the Sustainable City Awards, organised by the corporation, recognises and rewards outstanding achievement across three pillars of sustainable development - the environment, social issues and the economy.

The corporation's head of sustainability, Simon Mills, said: "In the current economic climate it is critical for organisations to grasp the sustainable business agenda.

"This year we expect to see an increase in applications, in particular from the SMEs who are seeing the real cost saving benefits in sustainable business practice."
