Eco homes construction underway in Greenwich
Work is underway this week on new energy efficient homes using the latest environmental technology in south east London.
Warm air heating and domestic hot water will be provided by air source heat pumps and photovoltaic roof tiles will generate renewable electricity.
These will be integrated with interlocking concrete roof tiles to blend in with the urban surroundings.
The Gallon Close development, which is being built by Osborne for housing group Family Mosaic, will meet Level five of the Code for Sustainable Homes.
Managing director of Osborne's Homes Sector, Peter Head: "The fact these are affordable sustainable homes demonstrates the technology of energy efficiency is not cost prohibitive and we are pleased to be at the forefront of sustainable development in the inner city."
