Water awards seek industry experts

Industry awards designed to celebrate sustainable developments, innovative use of technology, partnerships, people and communications by water companies have been launched by edie's sister print publications and are now looking for entries.


WET News and Water & Waste Treatment, Environmental publisher Faversham House Group, has inaugurated seven awards to highlight excellence in the UK water industry.

The Water Industry Achievement Awards, will be presented at a celebration dinner at the International Conference Centre, Birmingham, on May 2, 2007 during Sustainabilitylive!, the UK’s biggest environmental business event organised by FHG.

Entries are invited from consultancies, civil and process engineering firms, equipment manufacturers and academic teams working on processes or products used in water treatment, as well as from water companies, water authorities and their suppliers.

The 2007 Water Industry Achievement Awards categories cover:

  • The People Initiative of the Year

  • The Best Information & Communication Campaign

  • The Sustainable Development Award

  • The Innovative Technology Award

  • The Drilling & Tapping Team of the Year

  • The Outstanding Individual Contribution to the Water Industry
