Veolia Water’s Ray Tiller appointed as vice-chairman of British Water group

Ray Tillier, Business Development Manager for Veolia Water Solutions and Technologies (VWS), Municipal Design & Build business unit, in Birmingham, has been appointed by British Water as Vice-Chairman of its Municipal Market Group.

The appointment runs from July 2011 for a year following which he will become Chairman for 2012-13.

British Water’s Municipal Market Group is primarily involved with the UK water and sewage and water-only companies.

Part of Ray’s duties will be to chair the liaison meetings which take place between British Water and the water utilities as well as bodies such as Ofwat and the Environment Agency.

A major concern of British Water is the cyclical nature of the current 5-year investment programmes under which the UK water utilities are regulated by Ofwat, and the “boom-and-bust” effect which this creates.

British Water is committed to changing this situation in order to provide security and sustainability to the supply chain and Ray will fully support this in his new position.
